We are committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our website or services.

2. Who We Are (Data Controller)

Busiby is the data controller responsible for your personal data. If you have any questions, you can contact us at: support@busiby.com

  • Browser type and version
  • Device information
  • Pages visited and usage data
  • Cookies and tracking data

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To process bookings and provide transport services
  • To manage customer accounts
  • To process payments and prevent fraud
  • To communicate booking confirmations and updates
  • To send booking confirmation messages via WhatsApp (where your number is registered on WhatsApp)
  • To provide customer support
  • To improve our website and services
  • To comply with legal and regulatory obligations

4a. WhatsApp Messaging

When you submit a booking enquiry, we may send you a booking confirmation message via WhatsApp if the phone number you provide is registered on WhatsApp. This message is sent solely to confirm receipt of your enquiry and provide your booking reference.

What we send: A single booking confirmation message containing your booking reference, route, date, vehicle, and passenger count. We do not send unsolicited marketing messages via WhatsApp.

How we check: We use Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform Contacts API to verify whether your phone number is registered on WhatsApp before sending. If your number is not on WhatsApp, no message is sent.

Third-party processor: WhatsApp messages are delivered via Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. By submitting a booking enquiry with a phone number registered on WhatsApp, you acknowledge that your phone number and booking confirmation details will be processed by Meta in accordance with WhatsApp's Privacy Policy.

Legal basis: Legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) — sending a single transactional booking confirmation is necessary for the performance of our service and does not override your rights and interests.

Opt-out: If you do not wish to receive WhatsApp messages from Busiby, you may reply "STOP" to any WhatsApp message we send, or contact us at support@busiby.com and we will cease all WhatsApp communications immediately.

5. Legal Basis for Processing (UK GDPR)

We process your data based on:

  • Contractual necessity – to fulfil bookings and services
  • Legal obligation – compliance with UK laws
  • Legitimate interests – improving services, preventing fraud
